This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.

Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the PROJECT POLICY ANL 2 or PROJECT POLICY ANL 3 level.

DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego Health Sciences International (UCSD HSI) was established to extend UC San Diego Health Sciences’ traditional mission of improving the quality of healthcare through excellence in clinical medicine, medical education, and biomedical research around the globe. UCSD HSI assists international organizations to improve healthcare delivery through long-term affiliations that incorporate advisory, clinical, educational, research, and administrative solutions and tools. UCSD HSI utilizes the talents of the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Wertheim School of Public Health, and UC San Diego Health to develop and manage high-quality healthcare facilities and clinical activities and to share its knowledge in developing medical education and biomedical research programs.

The UCSD HSI team works with various government and non-government organizations as well as academic medical institutions abroad to develop the critical intellectual resources, professional expertise, and infrastructure required to support high-quality patient care, education, and research around the globe.

The Program Manager (PM) manages the planning, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of HSI programs and projects. PM uses skills and knowledge as an experienced professional to develop and manage complex, diverse projects. PM participates in the planning and coordination of complex events and schedules (high-level international site visits, meetings, workshops, educational courses, conferences, and programs) related to the mission of HSI. PM will independently research, analyze and present data to develop reports for members of senior leadership to use in making decisions related to participation in projects, status of projects, and department policies and procedures. PM will facilitate marketing and communication for the department and be actively engaged in creation of content for website and social media platforms as well as other forms of communicaation.

PM must utilize tact, diplomacy, and discretion on a variety of complex and sensitive issues. PM will proactively anticipate needs, set priorities, problem solve, and meet deadlines. PM will use professional concepts to apply organization policies and procedures to oversee a variety of ongoing operational issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four (4) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area.

  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

  • Proven ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

  • Knowledge and skill in using social media platforms.

  • Experience in working with individuals at a variety of levels from diverse backgrounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
  • Overtime may be required.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $43,900 - $91,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $21.02 - $44.01

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).



Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
