Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, Occupational Therapy is looking for an Admissions Counselor I to join its team! Admissions Counselor I mainly provides administrative support to Academic Fieldwork Team.
Job Accountabilities:

Communicates in person, by telephone and in writing with students about the status of admissions applications.- Reviews student records, inputs data, and generates letters and/or lists utilizing the student database.
- Counsels applicants on admission policies and procedures. Evaluates and offers solutions to applicant problems and requests regarding admission. Applies transfer credit guidelines in review and assessment of applications as appropriate.
- Run reports related to student fieldwork placements in EXXAT system as requested and Track student course registration and alignment with fieldwork placements dates.
- Gather data on qualified occupational therapy fieldwork supervisors, licensure in the state of CA and potential fieldwork sites/contacts.
- Other administrative tasks to support the Academic Fieldwork Team, as assigned by the Director.
- Schedules recruitment activities for assigned territory or targeted student population. Arranges high school and transfer center visits, college fairs and other recruitment events. Works with faculty, staff, alumni, students, and high school and community college teachers and counselors to coordinate recruitment efforts.
- Assists in the preparation of communications materials promoting admissions programs and activities, e.g., newsletters, bulletins, fact sheets and brochures.
- Maintains currency on university policies affecting admissions and transfer credit evaluation.
- Serves on departmental or university committees as requested and participates in special assignments or short-term projects as needed. May be designated to lead other staff in project work.

The hourly rate range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
Minimum Education: High school or equivalent Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Secretarial experience with knowledge of PC software packages such as spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, etc.
