The VA St. Louis Health Care System is actively recruiting for the position of Me! dical Center Director. This is a Senior Executive Service (SES) position. Job Description:
The VA St. Louis Health Care System's Medical Center Director is responsible to the Veterans Integrated Systems Network (VISN 15), VA Heartland Network. Responsibilities for this position include:
Providing full delegated line authority and executive level management of the St. Louis Healthcare System, St Louis, MO. Overall responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, controlling, reviewing, evaluating and improving medical, a! dministrative, and supporting operations of a medical facility! .
Managerial duties and responsibilities involve making final decisions which have a direct and substantial impact on the health care organization and programs. Such decisions affect the nature, scope and quality of patient care programs and activities.
Determines program goals and objectives and develops short-range and long-range plans for achieving strategic direction consistent with VISN 15, VHA, and VA Strategic, Performance and Operating goals.
Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with other Federal government agencies, local and state governments, community organizations, and other health care providers in the VAMC's catchment area. Fosters positive relations with the media, Congressional staff, service organizations, and volunteer groups.
The VA St. Louis Health Care System John Cochran and Jefferson Barracks is a two division facility that provides inpatient and ambulatory care in medicine, surgery, psychiatry, neurol! ogy, and rehabilitation as well as over 65 subspecialty areas.The John Cochran Division is located in midtown St. Louis and has all of the medical center's operative surgical capabilities, the ambulatory care units, outpatient psychiatry clinics and expanded laboratory. The Jefferson Barracks Division is a multi-building complex overlooking the Mississippi River located in south St. Louis County. It provides psychiatric treatment, spinal cord injury treatment, a nursing home care unit, geriatric Health care, rehabilitation services, and a rehabilitation domiciliary program for homeless veterans.
VA Structures its SES positions into pay bands. This is a pay band 1 position and the salary range is $119,554 to $179,700 . Exceptions to the salary cap may be considered in certain circumstances.
A Relocation incentive of up to 25% per year for three years may be offered.
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, a recruitment incentive and/ or Appraised ! Value offer (formerly Guaranteed Home Buyout) may be authorized.
