Childrenâs Mercy Hospitals & Clinics Department of Dentistry is seeking a full-time, fellowship tra! ined orthodontist to join our cleft palate and craniofacial team. Responsibilities include participation in interdisciplinary dental care for craniofacial and cleft patients, clinical support and appropriate guidance for dentists providing restorative services for craniofacial anomalies and special care orthodontics; education for our dental residents and an opportunity for research. We are specifically interested in candidates with a research interest in addition to clinical experience.
Qualified candidates must be eligible for licensure in the States of Missouri and Kansas, exhibit a strong interest in the treatment of cleft and craniofacial anomalies and special care orthodontics, as well as a strong interest in education.
Recognized by the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, Childrenâs Mercy Hospitals and Clinics' Cleft Palate/Craniofacial Clinic utilizes a multidisciplinary and integrated case-management approach to treatment. Our team i! ncludes specialists in audiology, dentistry, ear, nose and thr! oat; genetics, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, pediatrics, developmental medicine, lactation, child life and more to provide clinical management, diagnostic and treatment services.
Academic appointment is with the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, where we are the primary pediatric teaching site for students, residents and fellows. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience. EOE/AAP

Childrenâs Mercy Hospitals & Clinics is a free-standing, independent pediatric clinical, academic and research medical center with two hospitals which are located in Kansas City, MO, and Overland Park, KS. Clinical services include more than 40 pediatric subspecialties. Our patient population draws from 150 counties in Missouri and Kansas, and from adjoining states. A new patient tower will in! crease our capacity to nearly 400 licensed beds. Childrenâs Mercyâs Elizabeth J. Ferrell Fetal Health Center is one of only a handful in the nation â" and the first in the Midwest â" to provide a comprehensive, integrated delivery approach to improve outcomes for babies born with complex malformations. Our Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center is the only one in our region. The Ward Family Center for Congenital Heart Disease is expanding to include cardiac transplant. We continue to expand our institutional research capacity and capabilities and work with colleagues at UMKC, University of Kansas and the Stowerâs Institute. Our Pediatric Pharmacology Clinical and Research program colla! borates with all divisions.
