Group Overview

The Revenue Cycle Development Organization is responsible for creating solutions that will naturally and logically bridges the gap between clinical and financial oper! ations. From registration and scheduling to the point of care ! and ultimately to discharge, the Cerner Revenue Cycle solution posts charges to a patient's account as the clinician records them, every procedure, test, medication and supply. The charges are stored in a single database, which the business office leverages to prepare and submit timely, accurate claims; proactively guard against denials; and defend their right to bill. All of this can be done with no need for manual intervention.

Responsibilities

As a Revenue Cycle Strategist, you understand the challenges faced by hospitals and health systems to produce strong business results and quality patient care at the same time. You are not afraid to take this on and are motivated by the opportunity to define new and innovative practices in the rapidly-changing health care landscape. You do this by understanding the complexities of both technology and health care and by working alongside Cerner and client teams to develop and implement industry-leading technology s! ystems that optimize health care financial models.

In this role, you are part of the Revenue Cycle leadership team. You will become a subject matter expert for Cerner’s Revenue Cycle solutions, including all areas of Health Information Management, traditional coding and computer-assisted coding. You’ll navigate regulatory requirements, develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and help prioritize Revenue Cycle development activities. This, combined with your work with clients, allows you to help develop and execute the strategic direction of Cerner Revenue Cycle.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Minimum 5 years hospital inpatient coding experience

Experience in at least one of the following areas: Health care, Health Information Management, Medical Coding/Billing Management, Information or Coding Systems

Registered Health Information Tec! hnician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Cer! tified Coding Specialist (CCS) and/or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills

Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Ability to travel approx 25%

Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Kansas City area

Preferred Requirements:
Experience working with Natural Language Processing
