Director of Surgical ServicesLocation: Southwest Missouri, MOJob Type: Direct HireSalary: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00Degree: Bachelor of Science;Date: 10/11/2012Job ID: 0188628! 1 The hospital is a community-owned, non-profit regional hospital located in southwest Missouri . The Medical Center is non-for-profit, Joint Commission approved hospital licensed for 50+ beds that delivers acute care medicine. The Hospital also operates the Urgent Care Clinic in town , Rural Health Clinics in neighboring towns, and a Home Health agency. In addition, the hospital owns a 40 bed Alzheimer s Unit, 108 bed Nursing Home.Is in direct supervision of the following departments Emergency Department.
Reports directly to CNO. Knows and applies current Nursing Theory appropriate to the age of patients served, develops and implements Standards of Care and Standards of Practice, utilizes principles of Strategic Quality Management, maintains a safe environment of care, manages departmental resources, staff development, staff selection, contributes to a collaborative practice with other disciplines, assumes 24-hour accountability and responsibility for departments,! and behaves and practices in a manner consistent with the mis! sion and objectives of the hospital.Responsibilities include the management of the Surgical Services Department. Hospital has 1 full time and 2 part time general surgeons, 1 orthopedic surgeon, 1 gynecologist as well as visiting ENT, Dentist, Urologist, and Ophthalmologist. The department averages about 20 surgeries, 25 Gastro-Intestinal procedures, 30 Pain Center visits and 7 chemotherapy patients per week.
The candidate must know and apply current Nursing Theory appropriate to the age of patients served, develop and implement Standards of Care and Standards of Practice, utilize principles of Strategic Quality Management, maintain a safe environment of care, manage departmental resources, staff development, staff selection, contribute to a collaborative practice with other disciplines, assume 24-hour accountability and responsibility for the department, and behave and practice in a manner consistent with the mission and objectives of hospital. The main goals for a! new Director will be provide leadership to the staff which consists of both long term experienced employees and new inexperienced employees. Improve customer service/patient satisfaction and continue refinement of Meditech module application in the OR, and be involved in the development of the Cerner SurgiNet modul.
