Winery Harvest Intern
September – October 2022
We are a family-owned winery specializing in small lot productions of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah from the Santa Lucia Highlands.
We are currently looking for harvest interns for the 2022 vintage to work at our production facility near Monterey. Harvest offers a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of small lot wine production. As an intern, you will work directly with our esteemed and veteran winemaker, Scott.
We are looking for highly-motivated individuals who can follow written and verbal instructions to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates for the position should be passionate about wine, have positive attitudes, be detailed-oriented, and willing to work hard.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Equipment and Tank Sanitation
- Crushing, Sorting, Destemming
- Inoculations
- Fermentation Monitoring and Additions
- Cap management
- Drain and Press Operations
- Barrel Preparation
- Operation of harvest equipment
- General winery clean up
- Must be able to push or pull 100 lbs
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders and at heights
Duration: September to October (2 full months)
Job Types: Temporary, Internship
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Castroville, CA 95012: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
