JOB DESCRIPTION

Select’s Water Sourcing Specialists work directly with the water sources in the field. The Specialist will ensure all processes and procedures leading to the completion of information gathering to make decisions on the source of the water and the cost of the route for the water to be used. Assist in right of way and water transfer routes. This position also supports daily operations, business analysis, market strategy, sales and various development initiatives.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to
Right of way negotiations and water transfer route access.
Permitting/access, ND DOT and country permitting.
Landowner negotiations for temporary access.
Various other entities with right-of-way to be utilized.
Negotiate with landowners regarding securing resources and access.
Water permitting with local, state, federal for ground water, surface water and waste water.
Utilize Google Earth to map potential routes, clients and sources.
Read and analyze USGS topographic maps.
Record sales, transfer volumes, and other activities in an organized and efficient manner to meet internal and regulatory requirements.

  • Knowledge of locations of all field locations including but not limited to:
  • Oil and Gas Leases
  • Proximity to hydraulic fracturing operations
  • Private Ranches
  • Rivers and lakes
  • Proven Leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of principles for presenting expectations to management, customers, and landowners.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide the highest level of customer services to internal and external customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude to learn new software and skills quickly.
  • Familiar and comfortable with water transfer equipment and logistics.
  • Familiar and comfortable with water supply contracts and negotiations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage changing priorities and work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must possess valid drivers’ license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select’s insurance guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Water Resource education, related field experience or Landman background.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in water related operations.
  • Some regulatory experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to grow and develop with the position as it evolves.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage changing priorities and work independently with little or no supervision.

Physical Demands and Exposures
  • Requires a high degree of concentration in a busy area.
  • Must be willing to travel to remote locations and spend considerable time at field locations as required.
  • Position works inside a climate-controlled environment a majority of the time.
  • Traditional Monday through Friday, 8 – 5 pm, unless operational tempo and requirements dictate otherwise.
  • Ability to individually lift: Maximum 50 lbs.
