Your role

Are you highly proficient at identifying, assessing, and effectively mitigating risks? Are you interested in working in a multifaceted environment with a broad range of products and services? Does analyzing complex situations to come up with a solution appeal to you?
We are looking for someone like you to:

  • analyze and evaluate processes, products and services with the aim to identify and assess operational risks and effectively manage these
  • develop strategies (i.e. risk management frameworks; business processes) to manage and mitigate the identified risks
  • work closely with business leaders and stakeholders to ensure that risk management processes are integrated into Global Investment Management’s value chain and risk considerations are integral part of the risk culture
  • capture the status quo, draw conclusions, develop options how to improve the modus operandi and ensure implementation of the identified improvements
  • observe external and internal trends and developments with risk or regulatory angles as well as from a simplification and automation perspective and in that context, assess and formulate solutions, products, programs, strategies to improve processes.
  • challenge and support senior management in risk related matters as well as adequate governance and business set-up and take lead in projects related to these topics.
  • interact with second and third line of defense with the aim to ensure risk avoidance and risk mitigating measures are robust, well designed and supported
  • take the lead on cross-functional project management activities and successfully manage the implementation and rollout of project deliverables into the business (risk) organization.
  • closely partner with our regional as well as functional Global IM leaders and colleagues to drive implementation of the Global IM strategy, roadmap and agenda.

Your team

Global Investment Management is responsible for the delivery and management of investment content and solutions within GWM (UBS Global Wealth Management). Furthermore, Global IM also coordinates the investment value chain and ensures that our CIO's recommendations are consistently reflected in our solutions for UBS Manage, UBS Advice, CIO-aligned asset allocation funds (e.g. UBS AM Strategy Funds), proprietary hedge funds and private market offerings (e.g. MVPE) and Wealth Way. In addition to this, Global Investment Management provides the universe of mutual funds, hedge funds and private market instruments for GWM and provides trust and life insurance services through its Wealth Planning business.

Your expertise

  • multiple years of practical experience in risk management with strong focus on implementation within the global financial service or banking industry OR deep knowledge to investment products and services
  • university degree or equivalent (e.g. Economics, Physics, Mathematics) and any other risk / investment focused certification (e.g. FRM,CFA, CIIA) is a prerequisite
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various teams, stakeholders, and senior management
  • leadership skills to guide and mentor team members and drive a culture of risk management within the organization
  • organized, structured, confident working autonomously and able to think outside the box
  • able to grasp new topics quickly, prioritize, problem-solve, synthesize findings and propose practical solutions
  • excellent analytical skills with high level of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail
  • German language skills would be an advantage
