About WooliesX
WooliesX is part of the Woolworths Group. We’re an innovation business that brings together the brightest minds in e-commerce, technology, media and data to transform the way people live and shop. We’re here to create better everyday experiences for our customers. In the big picture, and the fine detail. In moments big and small. We’ve worked together with our partners to create all kinds of initiatives you know and love – like Everyday Rewards, one of Australia’s most popular loyalty programs.
The Position
We are looking for an Agile Delivery Lead to take a lead role within our EverydayX platform. You will be pivotal to the delivery of key business initiatives in our Everyday Market tribe. This role is responsible for promoting and supporting the adoption of Agile methods and supporting our teams to understand Agile theory and best-practice, and apply Agile principles and mindset. You are a facilitator and coach as you lead squads, and work across the Tribe, to drive delivery, self organisation, and continuous improvement (inspect and adapt) to ensure timely, high-quality business outcomes.
This role is responsible for;
- Coaching and mentoring squads in Agile, Scrum and the WooliesX Way towards minimum standards and beyond.
- Being an active contributor to realising our WooliesX agile transformation agenda, through proactive collaboration, contributing to learning events and developing collateral to support our transition to an agile organisation.
- Delivering training to squads as needed, particularly where there is a capability or maturity gap in the team
- Using metrics to support decision making and planning, such as velocity, lead times, burn up and burn down charts, cycle times, quality reporting (e.g. bugs and defects).
About you
You’re an experienced delivery professional, an expert Agile Delivery Lead and a passionate but pragmatic agile leader. You have a strong appetite for learning, as well as for teaching, coaching, and mentoring others. You have an in-depth, applied knowledge of the theory and practice of Scrum, including its pitfalls and traps and how to avoid them! You have a proven track record in value-based delivery, coordinating large initiatives across multiple Squads and Tribes. You’re energetic and able to drive engagement in the team and inspire them to tackle systemic challenges. You’re a people-person and able to develop and navigate relationships both inside and outside of the team - including with senior stakeholders. With experience working in a large, customer-focussed products business, you are comfortable with complex product domains, competing pressures, and a fast-paced delivery environment.
Further, you will possess;
- At least 5 years experience in delivery or project management
- At least 3 years in a full-time, professional Agile Delivery Lead or Scrum Master role
- Demonstrable expertise and a deep, applied understanding of Scrum in multiple contexts and at scale
- Experience in the application of other Agile methods and frameworks
- A solid understanding of end-to-end software delivery processes
- Strong facilitation, communication and workshopping skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills - with a focus on managing up as well as down
- Strong leadership skills, initiative and drive
- Pride in the work you do and everything you get involved with
Desirable:
- Advanced accreditations in Scrum
- Experience in a retail or e-Commerce environment
- Experience tailoring Agile ways of working for non-software contexts (e.g. marketing, finance or legal)
- Evidence of continuous and recent learning in Agile methods or other role-related skills
- Fluency with common Enterprise Agile Portfolio tools
