1000 Mile Travel Group was founded by two partners, Ben Ross and Nicola Veltman, with an unwavering determination to achieve a shared mission; to help experienced travel agents turn their travel careers into successful, mobile, independent travel businesses.

From an Australian start-up, 1000 Mile Travel is today a global host travel agency operating in North America, UK and Australia supporting a network of more than 400 independent travel advisors. 1000 Mile Travel is part of the CTM Group of travel businesses.


Schedule will be 25 hours per week.


ABOUT THE ROLE

A successful candidate will have the ability to provide the support and nurturing necessary for the independent travel professionals to grow their businesses through 1000 Mile Travel Group, enabling us to maximize the profit potential of this division. We are seeking reliable individuals with a strong work ethic who are looking for a challenging career with the opportunity for advancement.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Online and phone support to assist independent travel professionals develop their businesses
  • Understand how to analyze a customer issue, find the answer (knowing where to go or to whom) and resolve the problem efficiently
  • Established industry knowledge of leisure travel suppliers with ability to make recommendations and coach an agent, for example, through a group booking including how to market it and maximize profits
  • Personal motivational calls to our agents with ability to diagnose issues they are having and get them on the right track
  • Ability to make, change and cancel reservations as needed
  • Group air ticketing and other Sabre assistance (skill preferred, but not required)
  • Handle accounting questions regarding bookings
  • Conduct training sessions as needed


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to communicate and motivate using strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with targets and deadlines
  • Quick learner
  • Takes initiative - ability to work largely unsupervised (after training)
  • Strong technical/computer skills with ability to learn new programs such as Tramada, Sabre, (Sabre, internet, Word, Excel a must,)
  • Warm personality, patient, with ability to interact with all types of personalities and build working relationships with our agents as well as our internal team
  • Industry knowledge with strengths in ability to coach agents how to maximize sales (similar skills a good supplier business development manager would have)
  • Positive attitude and 100% customer service driven
  • Exhibits good judgment and business sense
