Group Overview
The State Government group is focused on state government procurement. This group will drive procurement opportunities that will include any of Cernerâs solutions and services, with emphasis on population health management! and EMRs, for state sponsored populations, e.g. state employe! es and Medicaid, and facilities.
Responsibilities
The Strategist determines the strategic direction, vision and scope of capabilities for the Government Group. This would include defining engagement strategies with states and the federal government, including government relations, and some policy development. In the government relations space, in addition to responsibilities below, the role will also include protecting and promoting Cernerâs interest as an employer, e.g. tax issues, economic development incentives, workers compensation, unemployment insurance, etc.

Business development

Policy development
Creating and developing new relationships
Health Information Technology and Chronic Care Management lobbying
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of government experience
Strong understanding of Government Cont! racting
Background in healthcare financing
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of Government Business Development
Law degree with practice experience in the healthcare space
2+ years of experience w/ core competitors (in the government and/or health/condition management markets)
