U.S. Citizenship or authorization to work in the United States
Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
Must pass pre-employment examination.
Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required.
Background and/or Security Investigation required.

English Language Proficiency required. DUTIES:
This position is located in Extended Care & Rehabilitation Service, VHA St. Louis Health Care System. The incumbent serves as Chief of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). The position is responsible for all clinical, administrative, academic and research activities within PM&R. PM&R services are provi! ded at both divisions of the Medical Center, has both out-patient clinics, in-patient rehab services as well as community based HBPC services through physical therapy/occupational therapy and recreation therapy disciplines along with physiatrists. St. Louis VAMC is also a VISN 15 Network Site for polytrauma and TBI, amputee programs and has oversight of such sevices in the network.

Tour of Duty: M-F - 8 am - 4:30 PM

Travel & Relocation Expenses: Travel & Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Citizen of the United States or authorization to work in the United States ( Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy) .
Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from on! e of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the ! year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, ore in the District of Columbia.Completion of a three year PM&R residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
Must pass a pre-employment physical, which may include drug testing.
Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is required.
Must be cleared through Special Agency Check and National Agency Check with Inquiry.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Physical requirements of this position include the following tasks which may be performed intermittently: lifting of up to 10 lbs., sitting (4 hours), standing (2 hours), walking (2 hours), bending/st! ooping (1 hour), twisting (1/2 hour), simple grasping (4 hours), fine manipulation (6 hours), reaching above the shoulder (1/2 hour), and operating machinery (1/2 hour).
