Appointment’s primary focus is field service and produ! ction medicine. Less time dedicated to in-house clinical servi! ce. This faculty member will: Develop caseload-based clinical curriculum in livestock production medicine; Contribute to production medicine clinical elective and didactic teaching; Interact with animal-owning public, referring veterinarians, students, commodity groups, extension faculty, animal science faculty, and Missouri Department of Agriculture; Share in after-hours call; Share responsibility for training interns, residents and graduate students. Participate in clinical / production based research (non-tenure track-teaching) or develop an independently funded research program related to food supply veterinary medicine (tenure track).
Didactic teaching, outreach, or administrative service will make up the remainder of the appointment.
Distribution of effort will be based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, career goals, and the needs of the food animal section. Initial appointment will begin as soon as an acceptable candidate can be identified and h! ired.

Qualifications include DVM or equivalent degree, eligibility for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in State of Missouri, eligibility for Federal veterinary accreditation. Graduate training is desirable; as is diplomate status or eligibility in food supply veterinary medicine specialty. Applicants must prove eligibility to be employed in accordance with applicable laws.
Candidates will be assessed based upon educational and professional achievement. Clinical experience, communication skills, experience working effectively in diverse environments, and letters of reference will all be considered in selection of a candidate. The potential for the candidate to work within the framework of the food animal section will also be assessed, as will specialty and/or re! search training and teaching experience.
