Summary: Responsible for providing visitors, staff and patients with appropriate educational materials. Maintains inventory of reso! urce material for the Center. Coordinates the Tumor Board Conference.

Participates in hospital programs and professional organizations that support patient education and are preventive and wellness related. Facilitates groups. Coordinates Reach to Recovery visits. Acts as the nurse navigator for Gateway to Hope patients and Oncology Rehab patients.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.

Principle Accountabilities:
1. Provides visitors, staff and patients with appropriate educational materials (pamphlets, books, videos, support group information, community resources and hospital services). (25%)

2. Provides direction to and serves as a resource person for assigned volunteers. (10%)

3. Coordinates the American Cancer Society (ACS) Reach to Recovery program at St. Luke’s. (20%)

4. Maintains inventory of educational materials and resources. (15%)

5. Part! icipates in cancer related and wellness programs. (10%)
6. Performs clerical duties for the department. (5%)

7. Coordinates Tumor Board Conference for the Department of Surgery. (10%)

8. Performs other work duties as assigned. (5%)

Total 100%

Required Experience:
1. Three or more years of clinical experience in Oncology.

2. Evidence of excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.

3. Awareness and understanding of the specialized needs of the diverse population served.

The services provided by the Cancer Resource Center RN will be consistent with the specific age related needs of the customer

Required Education:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri.

Compensation:Working Conditions:
Employee is required to sit continuously and walk occasionally. Employee must lift/carry a light (1-20 lbs.) medium (21-50 lbs.) and heavy (50 lbs. +) l! oad occasionally. Employee is frequently required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, lift waist to overhead. Employee is occasionally required to reach forward and reach overhead. For repetitive action, employee is required to use both hands for simple grasping and pushing/pulling. Employee is occasionally exposed to electrical hazards and CRT terminal work. Verbal and cognitive, as well as motor coordination and manual dexterity are required. Speech, hearing, and near-visual acuity are required. May need to work any shift due to 24-hour day, 7 days per week operation. Employee if frequently exposed to blood borne pathogens.

(Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%, Continuously: 67-100%)

The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.
