Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, coordinates and manages administrative activities that support the academic programs in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Assists Program Director in managing the medical education programs, including trainee recruitment, education support, documentation and ACGME compliance. Manages academic office including administrative staff, office support services, IT services, facilities, and event planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Manages the academic support staff for the department including secretaries, assistants, and coordinators within the academic offices. Responsible for recruitment and performance evaluation of staff.

2. Works with faculty to establish performance goals, assess work pe! rformance, and implement best practices to maximize effectiven! ess of staff. Establishes training programs to improve expertise and maximize efficiency of staff.

3. Assists the Resident Program Director in managing medical education programs including recruitment, orientation, evaluation, curriculum support, training documentation, and ACGME compliance.

4. Prepares and manages the budgets for each functional area, approves time & labor reports, financial transactions, and regularly advises Executive Director on business issues and results. Assists in preparation of department strategic plan.

5. Initiates process improvement programs and assists in establishing departmental policies and procedures for each functional area.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or a related field. 5 to 7 years of experience in the management/supervision of personnel and finance.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to ! build and lead effective teams, manage multiple projects, strong initiative and work ethic.

Salary Range

The hiring range for this position is $61,838 to $80,392 annually.
