DUTIES:The VA Medical Center, Poplar Bluff, MO is seeking full-time, Board Eligible or Certified Psychiatrists to join our Mental Health Service team. Duties include but are not limited to the following: The incumbent will provide treatment to an adult psychiatric population with diverse diagnoses including Major Affective Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, PTSD and Substance Related Disorders. The Mental Health Service is comprised of Mental Health Primary Care, Behavioral Health Lab, Consultation Liaison Team, Mental Health Intensive Case Management and Intensive Outpatient Program for Substance Use Disorder. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ***RELOCATION EXPENSES AND/OR INCENTIVES ARE AUTHORIZED***

Required Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education (PROVIDE COPY OF TRANSCRIPT). Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:(1) Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic association for the year in which the degree was granted.(3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.(4) For residents, graduation from an approved medical school as described above is required except as provided in M-8, part II, chapter 1.Licensure (PROVIDE COPY): Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure. First-Year Residency (Internship). Completed a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed. For a VA resident, the appropriate Deans Committee and Resident Review Board may recommend appointment on the basis of the candidate's acceptability for residency training. Approved residencies are:(1) Those approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals, American Medical Association, in the list published for the year the residency was completed, or(2) Other residencies or their equivalents which the Professional Standards Board determines to have provided an applicant with appropriate professional training. The Board may determine that the residency requirement has been met if the candidate has completed 1 year of postgraduate education.The physician must provide complete credentialing and privileges information in a timely, expeditious way to the VA Network Credentialing Office. Employment is contingent on the ability of the physician to be credentialed by the VA Network Credentialing Office. IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC.
