Job Description - Director of Business DevelopmentPurposeIdentify, plan, develop, and execute local sales strategies and programs that build surgery center case volume in a given market.ResponsibilitiesSell Ambulatory Surgery Division facility services to local physicians.Develop, establish, and maintain positive relationships with market physicians and their office staffs.Summarize local market activity, prepare Sales Call Reports, and recommend "next step" actions in order to facilitate prompt and thorough follow-through with physicians.Conduct ongoing market analysis determining strengths and weaknesses in relation to area competition and identifying potential needs for local physicians.Work closely with market administrators to target sales opportunities and develop local "sales teams", comprised of center employees, in order to ensure the most effective sales presentation to area physicians.Conduct "Sales Training" initiatives designed to establish and nurture a "sales minded" culture among local facility employees.Enhance division sales efforts by fostering a high level of communication and shared information with both ASD and the Hospital Division.Assist in the recruitment and development of Ambulatory Surgery Division Sales Representatives. Nature and ScopeA. Business EnvironmentThe healthcare market is growing increasingly competitive at a rapid rate while reimbursements are in a steady decline. In addition, political climate and public perception will not allow for price increases aimed at building margins in an effort to offset declining reimbursements.

Therefore, gains must be achieved through incremental case volume. Building such volume will be the primary responsibility of the Field Sales Representative.B. Work EnvironmentField Sales Representatives will work closely with local administrators and surgery center staffs to provide a focal point for the direction of sales initiatives designed to increase incremental case volume.C. Interactions Market Physicians Local Administrators / Staffs ASD Leadership ASD Sales Representatives Requirements Dedicated to full time physician recruitment - All activities to be directed to building surgical case volume at ASD facilities, i.e., one on one sales calls with local physicians designed to assess their needs and expectations and how our facilities measure against these expectations.

Exceptional work ethic - success in this position will require routine 50 - 60 hour workweeks as well as frequent weekend assignments. Completion of formal sales training program Ability to work with little or no supervision Effective oral and written communication skills Available for overnight travel - up to and including 5 nights per week Achieve territory surgical case and net revenue budgetThe candidate must possess all the qualities listed below: Four year baccalaureate degree from accredited university Three plus years in medical sales with specific responsibility for direct sales to physicians Ability to travel a multi-center territory with frequent overnight visits Professional decorum Very outgoing personality Very strong work ethic Ability to work with little or no supervision Very flexible with work assignments
